Services Provided
Our 12-unit Initial Training prepares you to become a skilled Treatment Foster Parent, focusing on trauma-informed care, conflict resolution, and positive parenting. After approval, monthly training sessions expand your skills on topics like medication management and behavior strategies while connecting with fellow foster families.
We strive to utilize Lifebridge services whenever possible, though availability may vary by location. Each office also provides resource manuals with contact information for local services, including therapists, psychiatrists, doctors, and dentists.
After certification, families attend a Welcome Meeting with the Foster Services Specialist team for support and connection. The team maintains regular contact and is always available, with Family Consultant staff offering after-hours and weekend support.
Our three-step home visit process prepares families for fostering with key documents, interviews, and home readiness checks. Each visit builds on the last, ensuring all requirements are met and families are fully supported.
We host orientation information sessions twice weekly to provide flexibility for prospective participants. Independent sessions are also available for those unable to attend the scheduled times. While sessions are primarily virtual, in-person options can be arranged upon request.
We offer a dedicated visitation service, billed to DSS, to assist with family visits. Additionally, supervised visitation support is part of the TFC Family Consultant’s responsibilities, working collaboratively with DSS staff as needed.
While we don't provide specific adoption services, we support foster parents interested in adoption and help recruit families for adoption opportunities. We ensure our home studies are adoption-ready, allowing DSS to complete the adoption process smoothly.
